Lessons that we can draw from this period of ‘Apocalypse’ in a cultural sense. How has the pandemic influenced cinematographers and visual artists in general? If it is a part of Apocalypse it means that we should learn something from it to improve ourselves and reestimate our values. The question is: are we going to create a better world? How can we talk about it by means of cinematography and teach our students to think about it?

How can we work towards more fair labour in the film industry? Workers at the bottom of the hierarchy are exploited, and actors are pressured to perform compromising tasks in order to fulfil some creative genius’ wild fantasy. They can’t say ‘no’ because they will lose work options. Building respect and equal access are not easy in a capitalistic world.
